Per Diem

Effective as of 1/1/2024, all travel taking place on or after 1/1/2024 must adhere to the Per Diem policy outlined below.

Per Diems

Per the changes to the CSU Travel Policy provided by the Chancellor's Office, meal expenses will now be covered for employees by a location based per diem. Per diem rates vary between $59 and $79 per day, with 75% of the daily per diem for the first and last day of travel. Use the GSA Per Diem Rate website to find the daily rate for the travel destination prior to travel, so travelers are aware of their specific daily per diem limit.

Non Employee Per Diems

Non employees, including students and guests, will receive a flat rate of $59 per diem per day, with 75% of the daily per diem for the first and last day of travel ($44.25).

For Sponsored Program Foundation related Travel Per Diem Rates, please note SPF has some variations in expectations.  SPF offers Drop-In Zoom Hours every weekday from 2:00-3:00pm.
